⚠️ Important Safety Information

To ensure safe operation and prevent injury or product damage:

  • Use only distilled water (never tap or filtered water). Distilled water is required because it has the lowest amount of TDS (total dissolved solids)

  • Water requirements: Resistivity >2 MΩ·cm | Conductivity <0.5 µS/cm.

  • Do not add anything to the water (no minerals, electrolytes, etc.).

  • Never disassemble the electrolysis cell.

  • Always drain water before transporting the device.

  • Do not use near open flame or in poorly ventilated areas.

  • Avoid confined, dusty spaces and corrosive gases.

  • Ensure power is grounded and the power port is clean and dry.

  • Be cautious around static electricity, sparks, or oxygen-rich environments. Elevated oxygen levels combined with hydrogen increase combustion risk.

  • If you have lung or cardiovascular conditions, or use other respiratory devices, consult a medical professional before using hydrogen inhalation therapy. Controlled clinical data is still limited.

Echo Refresh™ Setup & Testing Instructions

1. Unboxing & Inspection

  • Unbox the machine and inspect it for any damage during shipping.

  • Remove the three protective plugs from the ports on top of the unit.

2. Fill the Water Tank

  • Remove the black fill tank cap on top of the machine (it pulls off; no twisting required).

  • Pour distilled water into the tank until it reaches the fill line (approximately 11 cups or ~2.6 liters).

    • You want distilled water because it has the lowest amount of TDS (total dissolved solids)
    • If you put too much water in there, the machine will give you an error and you will need to drain it.

  • Replace the tank lid securely on top.

3. Power Connection

  • Connect the machine to power using the provided power cord.

    • Ensure the outlet is free of debris or water.

    • Plug the cord into a surge protector (not included).

  • Locate the power switch on the back panel and flip it to “ON”.

  • The front panel screen will light up and enter standby mode.

    • The Echo Water logo pops up. In order to go to the next screen you have to touch it.

4. Test Airflow

  • Cover any port for 5–10 seconds then release to hear the air flow.

  • Note: The oxygen port will feel weaker than the hydrogen ports.

  • Important: Oxygen will not flow if the tank lid is off. Make sure the lid is securely on.

5. Connect the Tubing

  • Locate the 4-way connector with four tubes attached.

  • Connect tubes as follows:

    • Short middle tube → Oxygen port (center)

    • Two long tubes → Hydrogen ports (left and right)

    • Nasal cannula tube → 4th connector

Do I need all 3 tubes connect to the Echo Refresh when using?

Yes, you need all 3 tubes connected when using the Echo Refresh. 

  • These are the 3 channel ports - H2 Outputs and 1 Oxygen Output. 
  • You can choose on the machine how much Hydrogen and Oxygen output you would like. 
  • You can create a brown gas mixture (hydrogen and oxygen), pure oxygen or pure hydrogen alone, but you need all 3 of them connected.

How to Use

1. Water Level & Filling

  • Always keep the water tank 2/3 full for optimal performance. You will need to refill the machine monthly.

  • Use only distilled water and fill through the top lid.

  • Never run the machine dry — always add water before turning it on.

  • You can add water while the machine is running if the level gets low.

  • Monthly refills are typically needed.

  • The screen will alert you if the water is too low or too high.

2. Powering On

  • Connect the machine to power using the provided cord.

    • Ensure the outlet is free of debris or moisture.

  • Locate the power switch on the back panel and flip it to ON.

  • The front panel screen will light up and enter standby mode.

  • Tap the Echo logo on the screen to access the Function Display.

3. Setting the Timer

  • Press the play button ▶️ to start timer settings.

  • The default time is 30 minutes.

  • Tap + or – to adjust the timer in 30-minute increments, up to 360 minutes.

  • Flow level is fixed at 1800 mL/min and cannot be adjusted.

4. Using the Nasal Cannula

  1. Check the cannula – ensure tubing is untangled and prongs are curved downward when held in front of your face.

  2. Position the prongs – insert the soft prongs into your nostrils with openings pointing toward the back of your nose.

  3. Loop tubing over ears – rest the tubing comfortably over the tops of your ears.

  4. Adjust under the chin – slide the adjuster to secure the cannula snugly without pinching.

5. Start Hydrogen Inhalation

  • Press the play button ▶️ to begin producing hydrogen and oxygen.

  • 💡 LED lights are decorative only.

  • 🚫 Never block any air outlets while the machine is running.

Quick Tips

  • Refill the tank before the water runs low to prevent error messages.

  • Keep distilled water within 2/3 of tank capacity for consistent operation.

  • Make sure the cannula fits comfortably for proper hydrogen inhalation.


Echo Refresh™ Available Modes

You can change the modes by simply adjusting the tube configuration.

  • Brown's Gas: plug the nasal cannula into the 4 way connector to use 2 parts H2 + 1 part O2

  • Oxygen only - plug the nasal cannula straight into the oxygen port

  • Hydrogen only - plug the nasal cannula using the Y connector, into the left and right hydrogen ports

  • Two-person Hydrogen mode One nasal cannula would be plugged into the left port, the other would be plugged into the right port. (two nasal cannula's provided)

Echo Refresh™ Cleaning & Maintenance

The water that is used inside is distilled water so there is not a likelihood of bacterial growth. 

Water Trap

  • Drain by opening teal connector

  • Rinse with vinegar water

Regular Water Changes

  • Change water every 20 hours of use or weekly

  • Drain via back drain port (blue ring connector)

  • Refill & drain 2–3 times before final refill

Deep Cleaning

  • Unplug the power from the unit

  • Use Echo Clean or use a 1/1 ratio using White vinegar and water in the tank

  • Do NOT run machine with solution

  • Let it sit for at least 15 minutes, or overnight
  • Drain fully

  • Flush the Tank

    • Add fresh distilled water, then drain again.

    • Repeat this process 2–3 times for optimal cleanliness.

How to Drain the Machine

  • Locate the Automatic Drain Outlet (labeled and furthest on the right). 

  • Remove the Plug from the Automatic Drain Outlet

  • Push the "drain water" on the screen

  • It will start pumping water out automatically

  • Notes

    • It’s okay if the bottom of the machine gets slightly wet—just avoid soaking it.

    • Frequent water changes help prolong machine life.

Long-Term Storage

  • Store with a small amount of distilled water in tank

  • If unused for long:

    • Refill and wait 24 hours

    • Drain, refill, and drain again 3–4 times before use

  • Never leave completely dry for more than 1 year

  • If the machine hasn't been used for a while follow instructions for deep cleaning

1. Machine Will Not Power On

Check the following:

  • Ensure the power outlet is working

  • Confirm the power cable is securely plugged in

  • Verify the power switch on the back panel is turned ON

Check the fuse

The fuse is located just above the power cord connection on the back of the unit.

To check it:

  1. Use a flathead screwdriver or butter knife to gently pry open the fuse holder.

  2. Remove and inspect the fuse.

  3. Replace if necessary.

Your Echo Refresh includes:

  • 1 installed fuse

  • 2 spare fuses in the accessory zip-lock bag.

2. No Oxygen Coming From Oxygen Port

  • Ensure the water tank lid is securely in place.

  • The machine will not produce oxygen if the lid is removed.

3. No Hydrogen Coming From Hydrogen Ports

4. LED Lights Not Turning On

Frequently Asked Questions

The Fill Line Is Difficult to See

On the new Echo Refresh model, the fill line may be harder to see through the viewing window.

The correct fill level is approximately:

11 cups of distilled water (~2.6 liters).

Helpful tip:

When the machine powers on:

  • A red LED light inside the unit illuminates.

  • Pressing Play activates a blue LED light, which makes it easier to see the water level while filling.

If too much water is added, the machine will display an error message, and you will need to drain some water before operating.


Is Hydrogen Inhalation Safe?

Published human safety studies suggest that low-concentration hydrogen gas (~2% mixed with air) appears to be safe and well tolerated.

Participants in these studies showed no clinically significant changes in:

  • Vital signs

  • Lung function

  • Neurological function

  • Standard laboratory markers

However, there are important safety considerations:

  • Pure hydrogen gas is flammable.

  • High concentrations of hydrogen mixed with oxygen or air can create fire or explosion risks.

Some poorly designed devices that generate undiluted or high-concentration hydrogen have been associated with equipment failure or safety risks.

For this reason, it is important to only use certified hydrogen inhalation systems designed to safely dilute hydrogen below explosive thresholds, such as the Echo Refresh.


Can I Buy Replacement Cannulas?

Echo Water does not currently sell replacement cannulas directly.

However, you can purchase standard nasal cannulas with a water trap from most:

  • Online retailers

  • Medical supply stores

  • Local pharmacies

Can More Than One Person Use the Refresh at the Same Time?

The Echo Refresh is designed for optimal performance with one user at a time.

This ensures the proper hydrogen concentration and flow rate.

While it is technically possible to split the line using a Y-splitter, doing so would:

  • Divide the hydrogen output

  • Reduce the concentration each person receives

For best results, single-user sessions are recommended.


Why Are Different Flow Levels Used?

Different hydrogen flow levels can affect comfort and session duration, but higher flow does not necessarily mean better results.

Low Flow (~900 mL/min)

Best for sleep or long sessions

  • Gentle and comfortable breathing

  • Reduces throat dryness

  • Ideal for overnight use

Medium Flow (~1200 mL/min)

Best for standard daily sessions

  • Balanced comfort and delivery

  • Ideal for 20–60 minute sessions

  • Most common setting for home users

High Flow (~1800 mL/min)

Best for shorter, high-demand sessions

  • Faster hydrogen saturation

  • Useful for multi-user or clinical environments

Warranty Coverage

This warranty is limited in scope and covers only the following defects:

Any factory defects to the internal or external components of the device.

Any material physical flaw in the device that manifests in the exterior enclosure, including splits or cracks in the case, delamination of glued surfaces, and broken or defective screens or displays, that impacts the performance of the device and is not caused by improper use or handling of the equipment.

This limited warranty covers only the core equipment and does not cover any other accessories attached to the device, including plumbing fixtures and fittings, tubing, filters, or other components and accessories.

This limited Warranty is personal to you as the original owner and cannot be transferred to any other person. You will be responsible for all costs associated with handling and transportation related to the original equipment and any replacement equipment.

Warranty Exceptions

The main tank of this water filter is designed to last 10 years. You should expect to replace it after 10 years of normal usage: 100,000 Gallons = about 1 Year.
The warranty does not cover external filters or other parts that are designed to be replaced periodically.

To ensure full warranty coverage, your Echo Water product must be purchased from an authorized seller. Purchases made through non-authorized sellers cannot be verified by Echo Water and are not eligible for warranty service.

Your Remedies

If the equipment is deemed defective by Echo Technologies during this period, you, as the original owner, will continue to own the equipment. we will be responsible, in our sole discretion, for either repairing the equipment or providing a new or refurbished replacement product or the equivalent credit amount (Warranty Credit) to you equal to a prorated percentage of your original purchase price (less any taxes, handling, transportation, or other fees). Any credit amounts given must be applied exclusively to the purchase of a new product from us, according to the following schedule:

During the first 1 year or original ownership by you, the warranty Credit shall be 100% of the original purchase price (less any taxes, handling, transportation, or other fees).

During year 2 of original ownership by you, the warranty credit shall be 75% and decrease 10% for each additional year through year 10.

Repair Cost Schedule

At our discretion, we may choose to repair the device rather than or prior to issuing a replacement or a credit. Repairs are billed at $125 per hour plus parts and shipping. These costs will be Prorated based on the warranty schedule below.

For this limited warranty to be valid, you must:

  • Purchase the machine from an authorized dealer.
  • Be the original consumer or purchaser. Coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer possession of the equipment.
  • Provide proof of original purchase via a copy of the original store receipt reflecting the proof of purchase date, place of purchase, and purchase price.
  • Customer service and Technical Support will go through troubleshooting steps prior to sending out a full replacement unit.
  • Only one replacement is permitted per item. No further replacements will be provided if a replacement has already been received under warranty.
  • This limited Warranty will be void and shall not apply to products that have been intentionally or negligently damaged, dropped, stained, exposed to sunlight, exposed to harsh chemicals or elements, exposed to cold or freezing temperatures, water damaged, dropped, exposed to insects or animals, improperly vented, or overheated, used with hard water, or otherwise physically damaged or soiled (including by bodily fluid).
  • Overheating
  • Deterioration in performance over time is caused by failure to properly and regularly clean, change the filters, and do general routine maintenance.
  • The machine must be used with a surge protector; damage from power surges will not be covered.

ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS AND WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED.
