Acidity vs. Alkalinity: Understanding pH
Acidity (Low pH)
Water with a low pH can be acidic, soft, and corrosive. While acidic water is often odorless and nearly tasteless, it typically lacks buffering minerals and can contain dissolved carbon dioxide, resulting in corrosion of fixtures and pinhole leaks in plumbing. Acidic water may also leach metals such as copper, iron, and lead, causing a metallic or sour taste and creating issues like blue or rust staining on fixtures and laundry.
Solution: Use a neutralizer to raise the pH and reduce corrosion and potential health risks.
Alkalinity (High pH)
Alkalinity is the capacity of water to neutralize acids. While it helps protect against sudden pH changes, too much alkalinity can give water an unpleasant taste and may lead to mineral buildup in pipes. Our filters contain a media blend of calcium and magnesium carbonates that dissolves slowly to boost pH naturally, making the water less corrosive. Additionally, alkaline water can help lower Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), which some believe offers additional health benefits.
(Note: pH stands for “potential hydrogen,” referring to the amount of hydrogen mixed with the water. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral, under 7 acidic, and over 7 alkaline.)

CRYSTAL QUEST® warrants your CRYSTAL QUEST® Water Filter Systems for one year from the date of purchase (except filter cartridges and UV bulbs ) against all defects in materials and workmanship, when used in compliance with the Use and Care Manual. CRYSTAL QUEST® disclaims all implied warranties, including without limitation, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. If for any reason the product proves to be defective within one year from the date of purchase the customer would be responsible for all shipping charges and the unit should be shipped to CRYSTAL QUEST®. The entire system will be repaired or replaced without charge for the repairs or replacement. Please package your CRYSTAL QUEST® unit carefully to avoid damage in transit. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other legal rights which vary from state to state. CRYSTAL QUEST® assumes no responsibility for incidental or consequential damages; for damages arising out of the misuse of the product or the use of any unauthorized attachment. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you.
