The Airpura V400 VOC & Chemical Air Purifier is a compact room purifier made for stronger gas and odor concerns. It combines an 8 lb enhanced activated-carbon blend with H13 True HEPA filtration to address VOCs and chemical odors while also capturing fine airborne particles.
Best suited for: apartments, bedrooms, home offices, studios, smaller living spaces, and rooms affected by renovation odors, outdoor pollution, or wildfire smoke; up to 1,000 sq. ft. at two air changes per hour with 8 ft. ceilings.
What this air purifier is used for
Choose the V400 when volatile organic compounds, cleaning-product odors, renovation fumes, wildfire smoke, or other chemical pollutants are a larger concern than ordinary household dust alone. The HEPA stage adds particle filtration for smoke particles, pollen, dust, and other fine particulate matter.
Where to place it
Set the V400 on the floor in the room receiving the odor, smoke, or chemical source. For outdoor smoke, use it in the occupied room you are keeping closed from outside air. Keep the intake and 360-degree outlet clear, and connect the unit to a grounded 110–120V outlet.
- Place it near—but not directly against—the area where pollutants enter or are generated.
- Avoid corners, furniture, curtains, or walls that restrict intake or clean-air discharge.
- Run continuously at a comfortable setting for maintenance and increase speed during higher-pollution periods.
How the filtration system works
- A vacuumable poly prefilter captures larger particles.
- An 8 lb enhanced activated-carbon blend containing potassium iodide and coconut-shell carbon adsorbs VOCs, gases, and odors.
- An H13 True HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles at 0.3 microns.
