Benefits that support demanding water systems

Targeted arsenic treatment

The treatment media is formulated for selective arsenic reduction in potable water. Crystal Quest states that performance is largely unaffected by common anions including chlorides, bicarbonates, and sulfates.

Capacity for commercial demand

Nine system sizes cover published service flows from 15 to 390 GPM, with peak flow ratings from 22 to 450 GPM.

Built around the selected configuration

Composite fiberglass tanks, high flow distribution components, and model matched controls support applications from smaller commercial properties to high demand facilities.

Flexible operating choices

Automatic controls provide adjustable backwash operation. Select models from 15 to 75 GPM are also available with manual upflow or manual downflow controls.

Published media capacity: up to 500,000 gallons per cubic foot of resin when tested at 50 ppb influent and 10 ppb effluent. Actual capacity depends on water chemistry, operating conditions, and correct system sizing.

Best for

  • Commercial buildings using municipal water or well water
  • Industrial and process water applications
  • High demand properties that need continuous service flow
  • Projects that require a specific pipe connection and backwash rate
  • Facilities choosing between automatic and manual operation
  • Systems planned around a current laboratory water analysis

Choose the correct flow and control type

Begin with the required continuous service flow. Peak flow is the published short duration maximum and should not replace service flow when sizing the system. Automatic and manual configurations are not offered for every capacity.

Automatic control

Automatic models use timer controls with adjustable backwash cycles. The selected valve is matched to the model: 2510 for 15 GPM, 2850 for 20 and 35 GPM, 2900 for 60 and 75 GPM, 3150 or 3900 for 185 GPM, and 3900 for 200 to 390 GPM.

Manual downflow with backwash

Available for 15 to 75 GPM models. This configuration uses a manually operated filter valve and requires the operator to manage the backwash process.

Manual upflow

Available for 15 to 75 GPM models. The manual upflow head operates without electricity and without an automatic backwash cycle.

Installation planning

Professional installation required

Installation must account for the selected connection size, operating pressure, drain capacity, electrical needs, equipment clearance, and safe access for future service.

Plan around backwash demand

Automatic and manual downflow models require drainage that can accept the published backwash rate. Manual upflow models do not use an automatic backwash cycle.

Use the service flow rating, available pressure, backwash flow, installation clearance, and a current water analysis when planning the system. Peak flow is not the continuous service rating.

Manuals and technical documents

Frequently asked questions

How should the system be sized?

Use the required continuous service flow rather than the peak rating. Also account for available pressure, pipe size, backwash drainage, installation clearance, and the water analysis.

Does every flow rate offer automatic and manual controls?

No. Models from 15 to 75 GPM offer automatic, manual upflow, and manual downflow with backwash options. The 185 GPM model is automatic with a 2 inch or 3 inch connection. The 200, 245, and 390 GPM models are automatic.

What does the Standard 61 statement apply to?

Crystal Quest identifies the anion exchange resin material as Standard 61 validated. This statement applies to the resin and does not state that the complete treatment system is certified.

Is professional installation required?

Yes. A qualified installer should plan the plumbing, drain, pressure, electrical supply where applicable, equipment clearance, startup, and service access for the selected configuration.
