Airpura model-specific replacement activated-carbon filter

The Airpura Replacement Carbon Filter restores the gas, chemical, VOC, and odor-control stage in compatible Airpura purifiers. Carbon weight, depth, and formulation are model-specific, so the purifier model must be selected carefully.

Choose by purifier model: Match the model printed on the serial label on the back of your Airpura unit to the variant selector before ordering.

What this replacement filter does

Activated carbon adsorbs gaseous pollutants and odors that a particle filter cannot capture. R models use general-purpose coconut-shell carbon; V models use an enhanced blend for VOCs and chemicals; F700 uses a formaldehyde-focused blend; C700DLX and T700DLX use deep 26 lb media; and UV700 uses an 18 lb carbon stage.

Compatible Airpura models

Available for R400, V400, R700, V700, F700, C700DLX, T700DLX, and UV700. Select the exact model shown on your purifier—carbon filters are not interchangeable simply because two units share the same cabinet size.

Where it goes

The carbon canister sits inside the outer prefilter or TarBarrier, around the central True HEPA or HEPA Barrier assembly. Use the filter slider to lower the correct canister without disturbing the outer filter.

Specifications and maintenance

400 Series capacity 8 lb; formulation varies by R400 or V400
Standard 700 Series capacity 18 lb; formulation varies by R700, V700, F700, or UV700
DLX capacity 26 lb; model-specific media for C700DLX or T700DLX
Suggested replacement About every 24 months; actual life varies with pollutant load
Model selection Required; capacity and carbon blend differ

Replacement intervals are manufacturer guidelines. Actual service life varies with air quality, operating speed, and hours of use.

Installation steps

Match the replacement to the model on the purifier’s rear label. Switch off and unplug before starting; retain all felt gaskets and screws for reassembly.

Replacing the carbon canister
  1. Switch off and unplug the purifier. Support the unit securely while turning it over to access the base.
  2. Remove the four retaining screws, lift off the bottom cover and set aside the upper felt gasket. Keep the screws and gaskets for reassembly.
  3. Remove the central particle filter and old carbon canister. Keep the outer prefilter or TarBarrier, particle filter and felt gaskets for reassembly.
  4. Place the lower felt gasket flat at the bottom of the chamber and position the outer prefilter or TarBarrier against the chamber wall.
  5. Roll the filter slider into a spiral, insert it inside the outer filter and open its top into a slight funnel.
  6. Hold the correct carbon canister straight and lower it through the slider. Lift the slider out with both hands, allowing the canister to settle at the bottom. Remove and retain the slider.
  7. Insert the correct True HEPA or HEPA Barrier assembly inside the carbon canister. Retain any fitted particle wrap and its securing bands in their original positions.
  8. Replace the upper felt gasket. Align the indentation in the bottom cover with the center of the particle filter, refit the cover and tighten all four screws.
  9. Return the purifier upright. Reconnect power only after the filter chamber is closed, with the control switched off before plugging in.
